Redesign: museum webpage

During my final year at university, I completed an apprenticeship at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, assisting the functional digital project manager on various projects. The goal of the following project was to redesign the useful information page of the museum. The Useful Information webpage was only consisted of a drop-down list (see below). My mission was to carry out the design thinking process to deliver an ergonomic prototype.

Tasks: UX/UI design, User test

Year: 2023

Type: Professional project

Tool: Figma

Objectives

Give information (admission, open hours, access, tickets) of the numerous sites of the museum.

Fast and efficient user experience

Challenges

17 places to visit

Sometimes, visitors don’t know the correct name of a place to visit

Solutions

Allow visitors to organize the sites by type (museums, gardens, zoos, libraries)

Add representative pictures to help visitors find the site they are looking for. It might also make them want to visit other sites by discovering them

Give all the information expected by the visitors

Put the most visited sites at the top of the list
